Seventy-two open-top containers were recently loaded onto a Bangladesh-bounded bulk carrier at Longkong Port of Yantai Port, a subsidiary of Shandong Port Group (SPG), in preparation for the maiden voyage between Longkou Port and Bangladesh.
The launch of this new shipping route between Yantai and Bangladesh will help Yantai Port further expand its contribution to the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
Yantai Port has been actively involved in facilitating cooperation between BRI nations and strengthening the resilience of industrial and supply chains by introducing new shipping and freight train routes and expanding logistics channels. It has also been enhancing business relations with enterprises in Africa and Northeast Asia, which has led to considerable growth in its break bulk liner business.
Longkou Port has since the beginning of the year been leveraging its strengths in port resource aggregation and logistics to coordinate the resources of ship owners, cargo owners, lashing companies and agents, so as to provide customers with a comprehensive supply chain and logistics services. This has resulted in the successful opening of the route between Longkou Port and Bangladesh.
Yantai Port will next look to step up efforts to enhance market development and resource aggregation. This will enable them to make even greater contributions towards the goal of turning SPG into a world-class seaport and enterprise.
